The funds raised were used to donate approximately 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to several non-profit organizations including, Big Brothers, Big Sisters; ChildNet; Pace Center for Girls; Children’s Diagnostic Treatment Center; and a local church, in anticipation of the upcoming 2023/2024 school year. Pastor Greg Laurie, of Harvest Christian Fellowship, held a baptism on July 8 at Pirates Cove Beach, the location of the “Jesus Movement” baptisms in the 1960s in Corona Del Mar, Calif., and more than 4,500 people showed up to participate. The Broward Health Foundation raised more than $1.3 million at the Mohsin and Fauzia Jaffer Foundation Broward Health Ball presented by Amazon. Broward Health Ball Record This is the largest amount of money raised in the 10-year history of the Broward Health Ball. The Ball was held on May 20 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, and its theme paid tribute to Broward Health’s 85th anniversary.
