Place of Hope Dedicates Cottage for Extended Foster Care

Place of Hope held a ribbon cutting ceremony and dedication for their newly remodeled Honda Classic Cottage at the Villages of Hope campus in Lake Park on August 26. With a generous donation from The Honda Classic’s host foundation, Children’s Healthcare Charity, Villages of Hope was able to begin renovations on their Extended Foster Care (EFC) dormitory including a new metal roof, impact glass windows, and a fresh coat of paint on the interior and exterior.

The EFC program, “My Future, My Choice,” gives youth the option to remain in foster care following their 18th birthday through the age of 21. This new level of care at our Villages of Hope campus allows young adults to receive assistance and support within dormitory-style housing supported by a live-in Residential Assistant while offering freedom and opportunities to become a successful independent adult.
