Free Salt and Light Continental Breakfast

New Presbyterian Church, 512 NE 26th Street in Wilton Manors, will host a free Salt and Light continental breakfast with Dr. Jerry Newcombe on the Christian Roots of America on April 8 from 8:30 – 10 a.m.

Did you know that Christian ministers helped America win its independence…that George Washington said we can never hope to be a happy nation unless we imitate Christ…that Ben Franklin called for prayer at the Constitutional convention….that the Supreme Court declared, “this is a Christian nation”…that Connecticut is called the Constitutional State in reference to the nation’s first full constitution, which was written because of a sermon…that the Bible gave birth to the early public schools…that Harvard’s motto in Latin was “Truth for Christ and the Church”…that Princeton was founded by Presbyterian elders…that a Christian revival made independence possible? These and many other fascinating facts will be brought out in this special PowerPoint presentation by New Presbyterian Associate Minister, Dr. Jerry Newcombe, author/co-author of 28 books, including many on America’s Christian roots, including the NYT bestseller George Washington’s Sacred Fire (co-written with Dr. Peter Lillback). Jerry serves D. James Kennedy Ministries as senior TV producer and has interviewed many leading Christians through the years.

All are welcome. That includes students—public schools, Christian schools, and homeschools. An unofficial, unaccredited certificate of participation will be given to each student who participates if desired. Please call the church at 954-946-4380, so we know for how many to prepare food and coffee. Thanks.
