This year’s roster of GRAMMY, Dove, and Billboard award-winning acts includes Chris Tomlin, Lecrae, Kari Jobe, Lauren Daigle, 7eventh Time Down, Social Club Misfits, Steven Malcolm, Hollyn, GAWVI and Kolby Koloff performing on Friday.

Saturday night’s line-up features Casting Crowns, for King & Country, Thousand Foot Krutch, Andy Mineo, Family Force 5, Ryan Stevenson, DJ Promote, For All Seasons, Hannah Kerr and Aaron Cole.

Plus, you can enjoy some of Universal Studios’ thrilling attractions like Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit or their newest ride, Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon and more in-between sets.

A weekend experience

Is Rock the Universe worth the time, effort and money? Brody Howell, a youth pastor with over 20 years of experience, asked himself that question before taking a group of students from First Baptist Church of Pompano Beach last year.

“Raising four of my own kids, I know how secular music can creep into the heart and minds of our youth. What the world’s music has to offer is negative. Whether it’s promoting violence, immorality or rebellion, it goes against the purity and holiness of God’s Word. A weekend or a night at Rock the Universe gives your students an alternative to see all of what Christian music can offer. It can also help your students find some peer support by watching hundreds of other teenagers having fun and enjoying a wholesome environment free from drugs, alcohol and promiscuity,” said Howell.

“As much as we want to teach our kids to fill their minds with that which is right, pure, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8), we also have to face the reality that they cannot simply tune out secular music without something to replace it. It’s a matter of giving them an alternative to replace conforming with transforming. Romans 12:2 reminds us not to conform to the pattern of this world (and its music) but to be transformed by the renewing of our mind,” he noted.

Rock the Universe staff understand the value of church leaders and youth pastors, so they also offer group leaders Youth Pastor VIP rooms to relax and enjoy free food and drinks.

C.J Wetzler, NextGen Pastor at The Church at Deerfield Beach, has taken up to 20 students with four adult leaders, to Rock the Universe two years in a row.

“We felt it was important to go to increase their awareness of worship music and how to worship,” said Wetzler. “It gave them the opportunity to see the heart of the music from the artists themselves and to see thousands of people gathering in this very relevant environment lost in worship in the presence of God.” He said the trip also became a launching point for continued mentorship with students throughout the year.
